Virtual Parade of Homes
An online virtual Parade of Homes can be done in conjunction with — or instead of — a traditional parade event.
For example, Home Builders & Remodelers Metro East Association launched a successful virtual parade of homes using drones. The HBA worked with a local production company to create Parade of Homes videos with aerial shots and interior footage. The videos were advertised on the local HGTV network and on social media. About a third of the builders featured in the videos reported sales as a direct result of the video promotion.
The Sheboygan County HBA offered a virtual parade on its website the month after its live parade. A photographer took photos of all the parade homes following the first weekend of the show. The HBA provided 20 photos of each home and the builder selected which photos were shown in a digital guide book. The HBA recommends charging a separate, nominal entry fee for builder participation in the virtual parade, or building the cost into the main parade entry fee.
