Best of IBS 2024 Finalists Announced

NAHB announced the finalists for its 11th annual Best of IBS Awards for the 2024 NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) in Las Vegas. More than 230 product entries in nine categories were judged by 36 industry and media representatives. Finalists were evaluated on criteria such as innovation, functionality and design. Winners in each category, as well as a Best Overall winner, will be announced on Thursday, Feb. 29, at 3:30 p.m. during the Best of IBS Awards Ceremony & Toast at the IBS Construction Performance Zone (Booth SU253).

Affordability Pyramid Shows 94 Million Households Cannot Buy a $400,000 HomeNAHB recently released its 2025 Priced-Out Analysis, highlighting the housing affordability challenge. While previous posts discussed the impacts of rising home prices and interest rates on affordability, this post focuses on the related U.S. housing affordability pyramid. The pyramid reveals that 70% of households (94 million) cannot afford a $400,000 home, while the estimated median price of a new home is around $460,000 in 2025.
