When natural disasters strike, they can have a devastating impact on the communities they leave in their wake.
That’s why NAHB created the Home Building Industry Disaster Relief Fund (HBIDRF).
The HBIDRF is a recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization that was established to assist in rebuilding communities affected by disaster. Since 2005, the HBIDRF has disbursed over $2 million to assist areas across the U.S. affected by natural disasters, including recovery efforts from hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and wildfires.
NAHB stands ready to help local consumers and building industry members during recovery efforts through our members and local and state affiliates.
How to Apply for the Home Building Industry Disaster Relief Fund
HBIDRF contributes directly to other recognized charities aiming to meet the shelter needs of those affected by natural disasters.
Interested charities must partner with an NAHB-affiliated home builders association to apply for grants. Contact your local home builders association to determine if any partnering opportunities are available at this time.
(Note: The HBIDRF does not make assistance available directly to individuals.)
Submit final applications to Jessica Lynch.
