The Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) credential is your first step to learning the business of building, with instruction covering all the topics necessary to run a successful business. After demonstrating two years of building industry experience, completing the Builder Assessment Review (BAR) and completing the required CGB classes, you are eligible to apply for the Certified Graduate Builder credential.
CGB Application Instructions
- Create a login to nahb.org, if you do not have one. Use your NAHB PIN or, if you are not a NAHB member, please use your Education ID to create your login. If you need assistance, call the NAHB Professional Credential Helpline at 800-368-5242 x8154.
- You must choose either Premium or Standard. The Premium option includes your CGB plaque, your CGB lapel pin and other valuable credential resources. The Standard option includes a downloadable CGB certificate and access to various online credential resources to help you market and promote your credential.
- When you add your application to the shopping cart, you acknowledge that you have met all requirements to earn your CGB. You will be able to review and complete the application or return to the application later if you can't fill it out all at one time before finalizing the billing and payment information.
- After completing the CGB application, click the Submit button. This will prompt you to fill out the billing information and finalize the payment. The application will not be officially submitted until you have finished the checkout process and paid the application fee.
