“My passion is housing for all, regardless of shape, size, price point, new construction or historic properties,” said Thompson. “I believe in the power of ‘home’ to change and enrich lives. Deep knowledge of the local markets, a unique perspective of the industry and a commitment to always do the right thing – even if it hurts financially – are just a few of the things that sets Meg & Co. apart. Real Estate is a service business. Having our client’s best interests at the forefront is at the heart of what we do every day.”
Since the beginning, Thompson has always been ready and willing to evolve to better serve her clients. Meg & Co. was initially born out of Thompson’s desire to leverage her experience in “big builder” sales, management and marketing to offer personalized attention and professional guidance to small to mid-sized home building companies that had a need for a large sales team with a polished presence. Like so many others in the industry, the historic housing crash of 2008 shifted her business model to initially work with investors on foreclosures and sellers’ short sales. Since then, Meg & Co.’s skill set was retooled, and the brand was reinvented as a boutique residential real estate firm with a tighter, nimbler team. In 2019, Thompson teamed up with Keller Williams – Atlanta Partners. Thompson valued Keller Williams’ innovative technologies and felt a kinship with the company’s entrepreneurial, servant minded, supportive and generous culture.
In addition to Thompson, Meg & Co.’s full-time, full-service team consists of Kirsten Swanda as Buyer’s Specialist and Andrea Whalen as Transaction Manager and Coordinator. Dedicated to exceptional client experiences, their offices are located at 3325 Paddocks Pkwy Suite 190 in Suwanee. They serve both buyers and sellers throughout Metro Atlanta, with a primary focus on Cobb, Cherokee, North Fulton, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall, Walton and now going into Dawson County.
Always on the go AND at the forefront of her industry, Thompson is proud to be a member of the National Association of Home Builders, National Association of Realtors, Georgia Association of Home Builders, Georgia Association of Realtors, and Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, among many more – often serving on councils and boards. In 2023, she is slated to be Chair of the NAHB’s Professional Women in Building Council. She has a slew of awards to her credit – most recently earning the 2022 NAHB Professional Women in Building Outstanding Service Award.
“No one succeeds alone,” added Thompson. “The ‘&’ in our logo is an homage for all of the relationships we’ve formed over the last 20 years with industry professionals, lenders, attorneys, photographers & videographers, marketing professionals, vendor partners, home improvement contractors, and more. Our success is all about relationships. I feel it’s important to pay those successes forward. Having stood on the shoulders of other women in our industry who paved the way forward for me, I place a large emphasis on supporting opportunities for women to pursue a career in the residential construction industry. The field is wide open, high paying and enormously satisfying.”
Thompson is also a proud supporter of HomeAid Atlanta, Keller Williams Kares4Kids, Meredith College and The Citadel Military College of South Carolina. Looking ahead to the NEXT 20 years of Meg & Co., she plans to grow her team, recruiting like-minded individuals who share her passions and unique team culture. When she’s not hard at work hosting an open house for a seller, driving a client to what could be their next home or attending a council meeting, this Suwanee resident can be found in the congregation at Gwinnett Church or out and about with family, including her husband Scott, sons – John and Caitlin, Christian and Rachel – and new granddaughters, Emilia and Charlotte.
