Project Statement

Since 2004, the University of California-Irvine (UCI) and American Campus Communities (ACC) have partnered to develop, own and manage more than 6,600 on-campus beds, creating a supportive, purpose-built living environment for UCI students founded by a lasting, innovative public-private partnership. Plaza Verde represents a key milestone in the UCI-ACC partnership that addresses green living and affordable spaces for residents, as it was designed and constructed to demonstrate the university’s unmatched commitment to sustainable living and achieved LEED Platinum Certification. Home to more than 1,400 residents, Plaza Verde is a five-story, modern student community that continues on the UCI initiative of maintaining and expanding a sustainable, affordable and academically oriented on-campus residential experience.
