Project Statement
Matson Mill is a new apartment community built along the Schuylkill River in Conshohocken, Penn. Originally named Matson’s Ford, the town was known for its many grist mills, iron works and textile mills, all powered by the mighty Schuylkill River. In fact, on this very site, an expansive woolen mill once stood.
With rich, bespoke interiors inspired by the area’s industrial past and architecture that makes the most of the Schuylkill River, Matson Mill Apartments honors its heritage with its name and its design. The result is a handcrafted, curated environment that feels unlike anywhere else.
The Matson Mill marketing campaign marries the site’s history of textile production with a distinctly modern style. Graphic elements inspired by weaving motifs are intended to celebrate the history of the property’s location and evoke the concept of being “woven into the riverside.” On the website, the woven motifs animate in a way that is evocative of both weaving and flowing water. The elegant navy, rich red and muted gold color palette nods to the river while picking up cues from the interior design of the property itself. The result is a brand that celebrates the history of the location, embraces waterside living, and highlights the most compelling features of this exciting new community.
