Project Statement
Riverwalk, situated in the heart of Castle Rock, Colo., represents a pioneering model for downtown development. In partnership with the Town of Castle Rock and the Castle Rock Downtown Development Authority, Riverwalk Castle Rock successfully revitalized a neglected downtown area and transformed it into the most thriving mixed-use development in the region. This project has not only rejuvenated the downtown landscape but has also preserved its historical charm.
Our vision for Riverwalk was to convert two disjointed parcels, previously occupied by a vape shop, tattoo parlor and liquor store, into a vibrant, cohesive and walkable downtown destination. By collaborating closely with Castle Rock officials, the team recognized the community's aspiration to live and work in the downtown area.
To bring this vision to life, the developer proposed a high-density mixed-use project featuring two buildings with ground-level retail, co-working space, 230 residential apartments, 47,900 square feet of total commercial space, and two levels of underground parking in each structure. The vision was to create a lively, walkable environment that fosters community interaction and adds new life to downtown Castle Rock.
