Honest Abe Log Homes Delivers Custom Cabin in Jamestown, Tenn.
After 23 years in the Air Force, Dan Matthews retired in 2015 and moved back to his hometown of Jamestown, Tenn., where he built his cabin on three acres along bluffs overlooking the Clear Fork River.
The home features a wrap deck, covered porch, dry-stack stone fireplace, painted interior logs, a luxury bath and a loft master suite.
Matthews selected Honest Abe’s standard Aspen plan and made a few modifications that reflect his love of nature, hunting and fishing.
Matthews is now enjoying his cabin with his fiancée and their dogs. The couple often spends their time in one of three favorite places: the Great Room with a floor-to-ceiling gas fireplace of manufactured stone or the basement bar and pool room or the extra-wide covered porch with a gas fire pit that overlooks the river and faces the mountains.
On the 1,301-square-foot main floor, they like to snuggle with their dogs before gas logs set in a two-story, dry-stack fireplace.
In the 997-square-foot basement, the couple can enjoy a drink at their bar, play a game of pool or watch a movie in the home theater.
Honest Abe Log Homes completed the Dan Matthews Log Cabin in March 2023 after 16 months of work
