Alicia Huey

Alicia Huey, a Birmingham, Ala.-based custom home builder and developer with more than 30 years of experience in the home building industry, was NAHB’s 2023 Chairman of the Board. Huey is president of AGH Homes, Inc., a custom home building company she founded in 2000. In addition to building high-end custom homes for buyers on individual lots, AGH Homes has also built in several golf course communities in Hoover and Vestavia, Ala.

Throughout her career, Huey has been active in the NAHB leadership structure at the local, state and national levels. She has served on the NAHB Board of Directors for more than 15 years and is a life director. She also chaired several NAHB committees, including BUILD-PAC, Professional Women in Building (PWB), Membership, and Business Management and Information Technology. Huey has also served on the State & Local Government Affairs and Public Affairs and Association Communications committees, and as a member of the Executive Board. In 2008, she was named NAHB’s PWB Woman of the Year.

For her dedication to the industry, Huey was inducted into the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders Hall of Fame in 2008. She was named as the association’s Builder of the Year in 2012 and served as its president in 2013. In 2014, Huey was named the Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Alabama.

Huey also believes in giving back to her local community. She has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for more than a decade, was honored as the organization’s 2011 Volunteer of the Year and served as chair of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Birmingham from 2012-2014.

Huey lives in Birmingham with her husband Don, who is also active in their local home builders association through his company, Magic City Title Insurance.
