The Bunker House is a 3,120-square-foot single family home located in Tofte, Minnesota. The builder chose SIPs for the walls and roof manufactured for this exceptional private family residence on the shores Lake Superior, with great views in all directions. The roof panels enabled the crew on this project to get the envelop closed in faster, thus reducing utility costs during build. With this home being on Lake Superior's North Shore, energy efficiency, as well as air tightness, were attributing factors. Large laminated beams make up the floor structure; there is also a below-ground wine storage. The home is very efficient and quiet, and withstands the harsh winds of Lake Superior.
