A modern, custom-built home sits on beautiful Lake Manitou in northern Indiana. This stunning 5,000-square-foot home was built using eight modules. The five-bedroom, five-bathroom, two-story home combines the benefits of modular building with the opportunity for personal customization.
This home’s exterior sports black steel channel lap siding with stone accenting the garage, screened-in porch and bump-outs. Visitors are welcomed into the home with a foyer and living area with 19-foot ceilings. A 12-by-12-foot folding door is featured in the living room, providing an opportunity to open the wall and extend the entertainment space to the screened-in porch with an oversized wood-burning fireplace.
From there, a bright and airy dining and kitchen space was designed for entertaining. The kitchen comes complete with inset navy-painted cabinetry, quartz countertops, an ample island with storage, a custom range hood, and state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances. Tucked behind the kitchen is a butler's pantry for hiding any mess that hosting can create.
Further back on the first floor are all the functional areas of a home: a mud room with access to the garage and a large laundry room with ample counter space and a custom cabinet made to hide clothes while they air-dry.
Finally, a workout room features rubber floors over a concrete slab to reduce any noise from exercise routines. This room also boasts a 12-by-6-foot window to let natural light in for that morning yoga session.
Also on the first floor is a spacious primary bedroom suite featuring 19-foot ceilings, a 15-foot-tall window to view the lake and the night sky, and its own fireplace. The primary bathroom features double sinks with matte black plumbing fixtures, storage for linens, a large walk-in shower, and a freestanding tub. The heated floor tiles extend throughout the main bath area and walk-in shower.
A custom-built staircase with a gorgeous natural wood finish leads to the second floor. Here, the remaining four bedrooms and an office reside. It also boasts a cozy family room with vaulted ceilings, a 9-by-9-foot lookout window, and a large fireplace with concrete surrounds, and access to a deck overlooking the lake from the guest bedroom or family room.
This custom-designed home is excellent for large families who love to open the house to the lakeside pool deck to enjoy the day, with ample room for everyone to have their own personal space. The family moved into this house 150 days after set. Included in completing the home were utility hook-ups, installing mechanicals, finishing marriage walls, completing roof shingles, siding and garage.
